Bisque and glaze fired stoneware clay creation paying tribute to motherhood and, particularly, expressing admiration for the African technique of carrying children in fabric slings. Glazed with warm earthy tones of a fluid black for the mother's completion, black walnut complexion for the baby, along with Sandstone glaze for the headwrap and skirt. The small child is wrapped in muted earth toned fabric.
